US law firms see growth in labor and employment market

The US market for legal advice in labor and employment law grew by 4.7 per cent in the second quarter of 2012, according to data compiled by the Peer Monitor of the Hildebrandt Institute. The overall market for legal services, however, saw a marginal decline of 0.2 per cent, and the Peer Monitor commented that the industry as a whole needs to rethink and restructure traditional models, as traditional avenues of revenue growth seem to be shrinking. Demand for real estate and bankruptcy work fell by 3 per cent, following a year-long trend, and demand for corporate work also suffered a decline of 2.1 percent.
