Bingham McCutchen to launch back office operation in Kentucky

Bingham McCutchen is set to launch a back-office operation in Lexington, Kentucky. “Our industry remains under pressure in terms of pricing,” said Bingham chairman Jay Zimmerman. “We think this will give us a significant competitive advantage over firms that haven’t done it.” Mr Zimmerman explained that a series of mergers over the past ten years has left the firm with a patchwork of support personnel across its 14 offices, and the shift to a centralized 250-person office in Lexington will cut costs and improve efficiency. The firm plans to offer relocation to current staff, though employees that do decide to move can expect to take a pay cut, which is being referred to as”local salary adjustment”.
