General Counsel roles rewarded with impressive pay

In-house legal roles are looking more and more attractive, as companies hire top talent, keep complex work in-house, and offer attractive salary packages. According to a new report from compensation researcher Equilar Inc, the median total compensation for GCs at Fortune 1000 companies was $1,409,982. GCs who reported directly to the CEO had a median pay of $1,549,887. Even more impressive, the median GC pay at companies with more than $20 billion in revenue was $2,769,250, while median pay at companies with $10-$20 billion in revenue was $1,833,752.
