UK firms eye Singapore opportunities as local-law licences go up for grabs

May 2, 2008 Legalweek reports that DLA Piper, Lovells, Ashurst, Herbert Smith and Norton Rose are planning to apply for licences to provide local-law advice in Singapore.

The Singapore Government is planning to liberalise the market by granting up to five international firms licences to hire local lawyers and practise local law.
