Cravath appoints five new partners

Cravath Swaine & Moore has promoted five associates to the partnership. They are: corporate lawyer Stephen M. Kessing, litigation lawyer Lauren A. Moskowitz, corporate lawyer David J. Perkins, corporate lawyer Johnny G. Skumpija, and tax lawyer J. Leonard Teti II. The promotions will take effect from 1 January 2013. Cravath is very careful about appointing new partners because it is one of the few true lockstep firms, compensating partners without assessing their relative productivity. In some years the firm appoints no new partners, making this year’s appointment of five partners all at once quite impressive.
