US employment law boutique to launch in Europe
Ogletree Deakins has announced that it is expanding outside the US with the launch of two offices in Europe.
According to a report in the ABA Journal, the Berlin office is set to launch on 1 December 2012, and will be staffed by a team of seven lawyers hired from from Salans. The team is led by Hendrik Muschal, who co-chaired the labor and employment department at Salans and now takes up the post as managing shareholder of Ogletree's Berlin office.
In the following months the firm will launch a London office under the leadership of Michael Webster, the founding partner of London firm Webster Dixon.
The firm’s managing shareholder, Kim Ebert, said: “Our U.S. clients have expressed frustrations with the options for handling their employment law matters internationally, and we initiated our expansion in response to those concerns.
"Our strategy is to provide international representation that is focused on value and first-class client service, just as we provide domestically. We also expect that international clients with issues in the United States will take advantage of our domestic platform of 41 offices and more than 650 talented lawyers.”
