Clarke Willmott closes down trainee contract applications

November 25, 2012 Clarke Willmott has announced that it will no longer be accepting training contract applications from students. According to a new policy, the only path toward a training contract at the firm will be via a job as a paralegal.

Roll On Friday notes that the scheme might save Clarke Wilmott some money, since the it won’t need to cover students’ LPC fees, but points out that the move might mean that the firm misses out on recruiting the best candidates, since most students with a choice would opt for a training contract at another firm over a paralegal job.
