K&L Gates to merge with Australian firm

December 10, 2012 US law firm K&L Gates is set to merge with Australian firm Middletons, creating creating a combined firm with more than 2,300 attorneys on five continents.

From 1 January 2013 Middletons’ 300 lawyers across four Australian offices will work under the banner of K&L Gates.

Middletons’ national managing partner Nick Nichola will become the Australia managing partner for K&L Gates.

A joint statement released by Nichola and K&L Gates chairman and global managing partner Peter Kalis said: “With the largest integrated network of law offices and law partners of any global law firm, our clients will be able seamlessly and efficiently to access top-notch legal resources around the corner and around the world.”
