DLA Piper and Ashurst to cut jobs in Australia
DLA Piper and Ashurst have confirmed that they are making redundancies in their Australian offices, though neither would reveal the number of jobs to be affected.
Unofficial sources suggest that DLA will be laying off around 12 employees, both fee-earners and non fee-earners. The news comes on the heels of an announcement that DLA will be making 251 redundancies across its UK offices. UK employees will be offered enhanced redundancy packages, but there’s no word yet on what kind of packages will be offered to the Australian employees.
Details are also scarce for the upcoming redundancies at Ashurst, which entered the Australian market last year through a merger with Blake Dawson.
