Watson Farley launches German desk in Bangkok

January 18, 2013 Watson, Farley & Williams has launched a German desk in its Bangkok office after bringing in expertise in the person of partner Marcus Nothhelfer from Ashurst in Munich.
Nothhelfer is a Germany-qualified copyright and media lawyer, and was head of Ashurst’s German IP/Commercial practice group. He will work to service the German business community in the region, while developing links with Asian investors that are interested in Europe.

Marcus Nothhelfer said: “I have a long personal association with Thailand and the opportunity to combine that with WFW’s highly regarded, market leading, Bangkok practice is very exciting for me.  The prospects for development of the links between Asia and Germany through this, together with a broad corporate and commercial practice, are excellent.”
Steven Burkill, partner and head of WFW Bangkok, said: “The addition of Marcus to our Bangkok office will enhance our already very strong reputation in this vibrant market, and add a wholly new dimension to our offering to the international business community in Thailand.”
