Goodwin Proctor boosts HK office with hire and relocation

January 22, 2013 Goodwin Procter has boosted its Hong Kong practice with the hire of corporate partner Gloria Liu from Paul, Weiss, Rifkind & Garrison, and the relocation of IP expert Jay Chiu from Los Angeles.

Liu was a senior associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind & Garrison, and has specialised in cross border M&A, private equity and foreign direct investment into China. Chiu specialises in patent litigation, and also advises on Foreign Corrupt Practices Act matters.

“We are delighted that Gloria has decided to join Goodwin,” said Yash Rana, chair of the firm’s Hong Kong office and head of Goodwin’s Asia practice. “Her regional transactional experience and expertise, coupled with the addition of Jay’s skills, will build on the momentum we have established and assist us in continuing to deliver exceptional client service for companies located in, or those interested in doing business throughout, Asia.”
