Slaughters appoints new Hong Kong head

February 5, 2013 Slaughter and May has appointed corporate partner Peter Brien as the new senior partner for Hong Kong. Brien replaces long-serving incumbent Richard Thornhill, who retires after 36 years with the firm.

Thornhill commented: "I have had an enormously enjoyable 36 years with Slaughter and May, 25 of which have been spent in Hong Kong.”

“During that time there have been many changes in Hong Kong and mainland China and Slaughter and May has been involved in many high-profile and important transactions. The firm is well placed to go from strength to strength under my successor as the Hong Kong senior partner, Peter Brien, who has already spent many years in Hong Kong."
