Akin Gump's new chair to develop London office
Akin Gump has elected Kim Koopersmith to take the role of chairman when current chairman Bruce McLean finishes a 20 year stint in the job, on 1 April. McLean will remain at the firm as a senior executive partner.
Koopersmith has said that she intends to make the development of the firm’s London office one of the core elements of her plans as chair, building the firm’s international platform with specific focus on the energy and funds practices.
Last year Akin’s revenue grew marginally by less than 1 per cent to $775m while average profit per equity partner fell by 8.6 per cent to $1.5m.
