Ogletree VP resigns over dispute with firm

April 5, 2013 The vice president of South Carolina-based Ogletree Deakins has resigned, announcing that his departure was prompted by the firm’s treatment of a lawyer he recruited.

Don Prophete says he intends to take his $10 million book of business and a number of lawyers elsewhere, and is talking with multiple national and international firms. The move will end an eight year stint with the firm, during which time Prophete helped to found the Kansas City office.
