Five lawyers depart Finnegans to launch IP boutique

April 18, 2013 Intellectual property law firm Finnegan Henderson Farabow Garrett & Dunner has lost four partners and an of counsel, who have left the firm to launch their own IP boutique.
The head of Finnegan’s trademark practice, David Kelly, departs alongside partners Robert Litowitz, Linda McLeod and Stephanie Bald, and counsel Lynn Jordan.
Finnegan seems large enough and stable enough to deal with the departures: the firm had a lawyer headcount of 371 in 2011 and 369 in 2012, and the partner headcount was 147 in 2011 and 145 in 2012.

The firm’s gross revenue was reported at $348 million in 2012, a 1.8 percent increase from 2011, and profits per partner grew by 2.7 percent to $1.16 million.
