Two Weil Gotshal partners want out

April 25, 2013 Litigation partners Michael Lyle and Eric Lyttle have left the Washington office of Weil Gotshal for Quinn Emanuel, and their former firm is very displeased.

According to Above the Law Weil made a strong but unsuccessful attempt to keep the two partners at the firm. The firm’s executive partner, Barry Wolf, then came to D.C. from New York to announce the departure and “trashed Mike and Eric as disloyal, to the entire office.”

Lyle was the managing partner of the D.C. office and a member of the firm’s management committee.

It is understood that Lyle and Lyttle are no longer present at the Weil offices, but the firm is holding them to the (rarely enforced) notice requirements of the partnership agreement.
