Adams and Reese expands US network with acquisition
Adams and Reese has made its second acquisition of the year, incorporating the 23-attorney Columbia SC firm Ellis Lawhorne. The combined firm will have a headcount of around 340 attorneys.
The firm’s Columbia office will be led by Robert P. Bethea Jr of legacy Ellis Lawhorne, who explained the merger by saying: “We realized that a merger with a larger firm would enable us to provide more resources to meet the higher levels of specialization that our clients are increasingly requiring. Smaller firms have limitations, simply by virtue of their size or footprint.”
Adams and Reese merged with Jacksonville firm Volpe, Bajalia, Wickes, Rogerson & Wachs in March.
