Manchester firm JMW posts 13% jump in revenue
JMW Solicitors has recorded a 13% increase in revenue, bringing in £15m in fee income for 2012-13, up from £13.2m last year.
The strong financial results are a vindication of the firm’s strategic shift, moving away from a focus on clinical negligence and personal injury (and expanding the family law and private client practices.
The has also experienced a surge in website instructions in both the business and private client practices of 97% and an increase of 148% in fees generated from those cases.
JMW senior partner Joy Kingsley said: "The results are even better than expected and reflect the hard work put in by the whole team. We have a very strong clinical negligence and PI practice and the plan has been to grow the other areas of our business. Last year we took a sizeable family team from Pannone and grew substantially our private client team, while also making a number of additions on the commercial side.
"Clinical negligence and PI now make up approximately half of our revenues, which gives our business a better balance. The firm is in a good position moving forward and we have no major concerns for the year ahead. Morale here is high and we are regularly fielding approaches from good people looking to join us.
