Epstein Becker Green to close Atlanta base
Epstein Becker Green has announced plans to shutter its Atlanta office, with the firm indicating that the office has not been performing well.
Less than five years ago the firm was growing the Atlanta office, adding six lawyers from Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell in 2009.
Vice chairman Mark Lutes explained that the plan to expand the Atlanta practice stalled when the head of the real estate practice group moved to DLA Piper in 2011. He indicated that some of the roster of 14 lawyers in Atlanta may be able to continue working with the firm in another office.
The move to close the firm’s Atlanta office comes after the closure of its Dallas office in 2008 and its Miami office in 2010. The addition of the firm’s Indianapolis office might be the only example of expansion in the firm’s recent history.
