Linklaters forms alliance with Simpson Thacher

June 24, 2013 UK firm Linklaters has formed an alliance with Wall Street firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett to jointly advise clients on corporate and finance deals.

The relationship, which is non-exclusive, will see Linklaters combine its banking and high-yield expertise with Simpson Thacher's strengths on the sponsor side.

Simpson Thacher City corporate partner Nick Shaw said: "It's a very healthy relationship. We have good ties with a lot of firms in the market, such as Cravath Swaine & Moore, Cahill Gordon & Reindel and Weil Gotshal & Manges, but we do a significant amount of work with Linklaters."

"Firms that have been able to combine high-quality bank and high-yield teams in the City have been the real success story of the last few years," said A&O high-yield partner Kevin Muzilla.
