Shoosmiths announces trainee retention of just 41%
Shoosmiths has announced its trainee retention figures, and will be keeping just 41% of its trainees this September.
Only 9 of the firm's 22 trainees are expected to stay on at the firm on qualification. A further two trainees were offered positions but have declined.
Shoosmiths blames the woeful figure on continuing economic uncertainty, and pointed out that seven of its trainees have already found positions at other firms, while another is returning to a non-legal career.
Other firms with poor results include Ince & Co, which will employing only 10 of its 15 trainees this September (67%) and Taylor Wessing, which is keeping 16 out of 23 trainees (70%)
