Mallesons rival Allens has long been active in China but over the past three years it has also acquired an office in Vietnam. Mr Dunstan, executive Allen's partner for Asia, said in "The Australian", his firm - along with Mallesons and Minter Ellison - was picking up work in Asia that had no connection to Australia.
"It's a completely new phenomenon. We are seeing the regionalisation of Australian business, which is treating Asia just like it's part of Australia."
