Greenberg Traurig increases starting salaries

August 16, 2013 Greenberg Traurig has increased starting salaries for new attorneys working in its Miami and Fort Lauderdale, Fla, offices, upping annual pay from $125,000 to $145,000.

It will be interesting to see what kind of effect Greenberg Traurig’s announcement has on the regional market, as firms endeavour to stay competitive on compensation to attract the best candidates. Foley & Lardner is already paying $145,000 to first-years in Miami, and a spokeswoman for Holland & Knight said its new associates in South Florida earn $135,000, but the firm will review their pay "to make sure we're competitive."
