Sidley Austin plans expansion in Singapore

August 19, 2013 Sidley Austin has plans for fast growth in its Singapore office, with plans to move from a 4,800-square-foot office space to a space with more than 12,000 square feet, and having hired four partners in recent months.

Sidley was licensed to launch in Singapore in February his year, and the office is focussing on energy, life sciences and dispute resolution matters.

"We are just getting started," said Asia managing partner Thomas Albrecht. "We have been very focused on hiring at least one partner in certain practice sectors. We were fortunate that people we were really interested in were willing to make a move at this time. We anticipate making more opportunistic hiring in the near future."
