Juris Corp loses top lawyer in Chennai

August 28, 2013 The leader of Juris Corp’s Chennai practice has left the firm just seven months after joining the firm.

Partner Hufriz Wadia declined to comment on her decision, and Juris Corp is not saying much either.
Wadia is an Islamic banking expert, and was working on growing the firm’s banking, corporate, dispute resolution and real estate practice in Chennai.

Wadia’s departure follows a string of other departures from the firm: Wadia’s brother Hoshedar Wadia left the partnership in March, while litigation partner Anil Jarial went on a sabbatical at the same time, and Vandana Sekhri, Freddy Daruwala and Nisar Ookabhoy all left in early 2012. Of counsel Fraser M Alexander resigned in February.

This leaves the firm with co-founding partners H Jayesh and Talat Shah, senior partner Mustafa Motiwala, and partners Ranjit Shetty, Sandeep Mahapatra, Detty Davis, Sonali Sharma and Veena Sivaramakrishnan.
