Nine partners leave Weil Gotshal's Dallas office

September 20, 2013 Nine partners are set to leave the Dallas office of Weil Gotshal & Manges, including to former national practice co-chairs.

Six of the partners are heading to Sidley Austin’s complex commercial litigation group: Yvette Ostolaza, Penny Reid, Vance Beagles, Angela Zambrano, Yolanda Cornejo Garcia and Michelle Hartmann. Ostolaza, who co-chaired the complex commercial litigation practice at Weil and was also a member of the firm’s management committee, will take over as managing partner of Sidley’s office in January.

Two corporate partners will join Sidley’s private equity practice: Angela Fontana, who was a co-head of Weil’s U.S. banking and finance practice, and Kelly M. Dybala.

“We’ve been thinking seriously about expanding our Dallas office,” said Sidley chairman Carter Phillips. “But if this group had shown up at any of our offices we would have been equally enthusiastic.”

Another Weil partner, Michael Saslaw, leaves Weil’s Dallas office to join Vinson & Elkins.
