White & Case boosts South Africa practice
White & Case has boosted its project finance and bank finance work in South Africa, hiring three partners in Johannesburg and relocating two others there from its London office.
New partners Joh Coetzer and Craig Whitley join White & Case from Bowman Gilfillan, and Johan de Lange joins the firm from Webber Wentzel, where he was head of the banking and finance department.
The partners relocating from London are both project finance lawyers: Christopher Utting and Mukund Dhar.
White & Case Chairman Hugh Verrier said, “A strong Johannesburg office is fundamental to our strategy in Africa … The addition of these senior partners in Johannesburg underscores our commitment to our clients in South Africa, as well as the increasing number of multinationals and financial institutions doing business in the region.”
