Berwin Leighton Paisner boosts real estate practice
Berwin Leighton Paisner bolstered its real estate practice with the hire of the former global co-chair of DLA Piper’s hospitality and leisure group. Partner Karen Friebe specialises in the acquisition, development and disposal of property in the hotel and leisure sector, and will join the firm’s core real estate team at the beginning of next year.
Friebe joins BLP’s 60-strong real estate practice, which continues to grow even as other practice groups see a string of departures. Real estate represented a quarter of BLP’s total revenue last year, though turnover was down 2.3 per cent for the year, falling from £62m to £60.6m.
