Indian firm ELP rebuilds litigation team with new hire

November 22, 2013 Indian law firm Economic Laws Practice has hired Ravinder Narain & Co consultant Sonu Bhatnagar as a partner to lead its Delhi indirect tax litigation team, which currently stands at six lawyers.

Economic Laws Practice has been working to rebuild its litigation practice since June, when PSD Legal hired away litigation head Tarun Gulati along with his team of 12 lawyers.

“There’s a lot of tax litigation [being handled by the firm] so right now the plan is just to take stock of it and consolidate the existing practice,” Bhatnagar said, adding that while indirect tax is her core area she has handled my constitutional matters.
