US biglaw follows Cravath bonus scale

December 9, 2013 A handful of large US law firms have released their 2013 bonus figures, after the trend-setting Cravath, Swaine & Moore announced its own bonuses last week.

Most appear to be following Cravath’s lead, between $10,000 and $60,000, which was the same scale used in 2012.

Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom is following the Cravath scale, except that it will pay first year associates significantly less with a $2,500 bonus, compared to Cravath’s $10,000. Also following suit are Cleary Gottlieb; Willkie, Farr & Gallagher; and Shearman & Sterling (though a few associates will be paid more or less than the standard bonus).
