Chinese firm Fangda boosts HK corporate practice

January 8, 2014 Chinese law firm Fangda Partners has boosted its Hong Kong corporate practice with the hire of partner Andrew Lui from US firm Edwards Wildman Palmer.

Lui is qualified in Hong Kong and England and Wales. He has done some moving during his career, working as the head of legacy Salans’ Hong Kong office before starting his role with Edwards Wildman’s Hong Kong office in 2010, and before that serving as co-head of Pinsent Masons’ China corporate practice and as a partner in DLA Piper’s Hong Kong office before that.

Lui’s practice primarily focuses on corporate and capital markets transactions and regulatory matters. Companies he has advised include Hutchison Whampoa, Cheung Kong Holdings, Samsung Securities, Ping An Insurance, SUEZ and the New World Group.
