Trowers & Hamlins closes Egypt office
Trowers & Hamlins has closed its Cairo office due to uncertainty over the long-term outlook for Egypt.
The firm temporarily closed the Cairo office last year to ensure the safety of its staff amid ongoing unrest, and managing partner Jennie Gubbins is now saying that: “Although the situation has improved somewhat since the January 2011 revolution, the longer-term outlook for the country remains uncertain.”
The resident managing partner of the Cairo office - Sara Hinton - is set to join local firm Ibrachy & Partners], along with an unspecified number of colleagues. Trowers said it would work with Ibrachy on a best-friends basis in the future.
