DLA Piper confirms 69 redundancies in support staff
DLA Piper has confirmed that it has laid off 69 support staff, following the centralisation of its document production centre in Leeds.
Redundancies were made in the Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, London, Manchester and Sheffield offices. And the number of affected staff is further expanded by the five staff that were transferred to join the team in Leeds, the 14 now working in satellite offices and the five that resigned.
The consultation was part of a firm-wide review, affecting a total of 251 lawyers and back office staff and leading to the closure of the firm’s 85-person Glasgow office. The process was led by the firm's management team, including global co-chairman Tony Angel.
