Ten UK law firms make Stonewall's ranking for LGBT staff

January 21, 2014 Stonewall has announced its top 100 employers of lesbian, gay and bisexual staff, with ten law firms making the cut.

Simmons & Simmons was the highest placed law firm for the sixth year in a row, taking the eight place in the overall ranking.

Other firms that made it into the top 100 were Baker & McKenzie (19th place), CMS Cameron McKenna (30th), Herbert Smith Freehills (30th), Hogan Lovells (35th), Eversheds(45th), Pinsent Masons (45th) and Irwin Mitchell (58th). And joining the list for the first time were Freshfields and Norton Rose Fulbright, which both tied for 66th place.

Partner David Stone, Co-Chair of Simmons' LGBT network, said "law is often considered as conservative, so it’s also pleasing to see that so many UK firms have ranked so well. We’re competing against prejudice, not against each other".
