Australian law firm Minter Ellison hires 15 from KWM
Minter Ellison has scooped up two partners and their team of 13 from King & Wood Mallesons in Melbourne.
The departing team is led by IP partners Robert Cooper and Wayne McMaster. McMaster previously headed King & Wood Mallesons’ Australian IP and health and pharmaceuticals practice groups. The team also includes a special counsel, three senior associates, four associates and a number of paralegals and support staff.
KWM’s Australian managing partner Sue Kench explained that the decision for the team to leave the firm was a mutual one: “When firms combine you need to rebalance and realign your practices, and this move is part of that alignment strategy.”
