FFW acquires Manchester boutique firm
Field Fisher Waterhouse has acquired Heatons, an eight-partner Manchester boutique firm, after the latter firm’s partners voted in favour of the merger.
The merger boosts FFW’s Manchester capacity from one to eight partners, and the Manchester contingent will be led by Heatons’ managing partner Matthew Fleetwood.
Heatons had a good year in 2012-13, increasing revenue by 45 per cent, from £2.2m to £3.4m. In the same period FFW’s turnover dropped from £99.1m to £96.7m.
FFW managing partner Michael Chissick said: “The performance of our Manchester office has been solid but unexciting. It was a question of analysing the market and looking to see what was available. We picked up the phone to a number of firms, and they were all interested in speaking to us.”
