Charles Russell and Speechly Bircham in merger talks
RollOnFriday reports that Charles Russell and Speechly Bircham are in merger talks.
Speechly has been in the market for a merger partner for a while - the firm was in negotiations with Withers last year before the deal fell through before the vote.
RollOnFriday points out that the firms seem to be a good match, with partners earning around the same amount at each firm (an average of £300,000 at Charles Russell and £293,000 at Speechlys). A merger of the two would create a firm with a combined fee income of around £126m and a headcount of 164 partners, making it the largest private client firm in England.
