Enrolment down at US law schools

March 6, 2014 Enrolment at US law schools is in decline, with some schools faring worse than others.

Overall, 132 of the 199 ABA-accredited law schools saw declining enrolment numbers in the last 12 months, while eight schools saw no change in new enrolment.

There were 13 law schools that saw first-year enrolment drop by 30 percent or more in the last year; while an additional 27 recorded a decline in enrolment of between 20 to 30 percent.

Enrolment gains were enjoyed by slightly more than a quarter of schools—62 in total.
