The fee of $2,000 would be attached to the “Qualifying Examination for the Indian Nationals holding Foreign Law Degrees recognised by the Bar Council of India”, an exam that was taken by just three candidates in 2012, with only one candidate passing the test.
Candidates would pay the standard Rs 25,000 examination fee, and would be required to pay the US dollar amount, equivalent to Rs 1.2 lakh, to the BCI before getting the result of the exam.
