Addleshaw Goddard MP steps down
Addleshaw Goddard’s managing partner, Paul Devitt, has announced that he will step down from the role a full year early. The firm will conduct an election to appoint his replacement.
The firm had no comment on Devitt’s reasons for leaving the role, saying only that "we understand and respect Paul’s decision not to stand for re-election and look forward to the continued and valuable contribution he will make to our business as a partner in the corporate division".
Meanwhile, Addleshaw has also announced that its projections for partner profits were higher than they should have been, saying that "an error in our calculations at the start of the financial year" means that partners will receive a "slightly lower than forecast £/point".
A spokesman explained that the incorrect projection arose from a reporting error in Hong Kong as well as a conditional fee arrangement that didn’t work out in the firm’s favour. The spokesman added that the misreporting was entirely unconnected with Devitt's early departure.
