Morgan Cole and Blake Lapthorn to make redundancies
Morgan Cole and Blake Lapthorn have announced that they are set to merge, after Boyes Turner pulled out of negotiations for a three-firm merger. The new firm will operate under the name Blake Morgan, with turnover of £72m and 120 partners.
The firm also confirmed that it would be making 14 redundancies among support staff at Morgan Cole's Swansea office. The firm said that the redundancies are unconnected with the merger, and were prompted by the selling of its insurance teams to DAC Beachcroftand Berrymans Lace Mawer last year.
Blake Lapthorn Managing Partner Walter Cha said: "our combination with Morgan Cole positions us as a major player in Wales and Southern England and will provide us with a strong platform to invest in London and the Thames Valley."
