Carlton Fields Jorden Burt to launch in LA
Carlton Fields Jorden Burt is set to launch in Los Angeles, announcing its expansion just a few months after the merger that gave the firm a base in Connecticut and another in Washington DC.
The firm now has 11 offices and a headcount of over 370 attorneys and government consultants.
“We have substantial clients, cases, and transactions in California. So opening an office in Los Angeles is a natural progression of our growth,” said Gary L. Sasso, the firm's president and CEO.
The firm's class-action defense work "in particular, has driven us into California, where many such cases are filed," he said, adding: "We anticipate other synergies as well. California, Florida, and New York, for example, are international hubs, and they have strong financial services, real estate, technology, and health care and life sciences sectors."
The new LA office will be led by Mark A. Neubauer who was formerly the national chief of Steptoe & Johnson's litigation practice and member of that firm's executive committee.
