Slaughters announces annual pay rise
Slaughter and May has announced its annual pay rises, bumping up pay for newly qualified lawyers by £2,000 to award a salary of £65,000. comments powered by Disqus
The boost brings Slaughters out of last place among magic circle firms for pay, putting it on an even or better footing with rivals Linklaters, Clifford Chance and Allen & Overy. The increase doesn’t beat pay at Freshfields, however, where they pay associates between £1,000 to £2,500 more.
Richard Clark, Executive Partner of Slaughter and May, said, “The firm has seen an encouraging level of activity so far this year and we remain cautiously optimistic about the prospects for the continuing recovery of the wider economy”.
