Patton and Squires may be set for a vote on merger
Patton Boggs and Squire Sanders might be set for a vote on a proposed merger as early as this week, according to media reports.
The combined firm would create a 1,700 lawyer firm under the name Squire Patton Boggs. It is said that the management committee at Patton Boggs has already approved the merger proposal, though the status of the proposal remains unclear over at Squire Sanders.
Patton Boggs has been looking for a merger partner for months, and even held talks with now-defunct law firm Dewey & LeBoeuf.
