Kirkland hires Weil banking chief
Kirkland & Ellis has bolstered its banking team with the hire of the banking chief from Weil Gotshal & Manges, Stephen Lucas.
Lucas joined Weil in 2011 from Linklaters, and he has spent many years working with Goldman Sachs and Citigroup.
Finance partner Mark Donald will take over from Lucas in the role of head of banking at the London office.
This is just the latest in a string of departures from Weil’s City office, following the exit of private equity partner Mark Soundy who left for Shearman & Sterling in April, and the departure of tax partner Sarah Priestley, private equity associate Simon Burrows, and star tax partner Brenda Coleman.
