Kirkland & Ellis headhunts head of banking at Weil
Kirkland & Ellis has boosted its banking capacity with the hire of the head of Weil Gotshal & Manges’ banking practice. Stephen Lucas leaves Weil after three years at the firm. And before that he worked for Linklaters and Clifford Chance.
The Lawyer reports that Lucas has expertise in the leveraged finance market, and has advised on a range of financings including representing Advent International in its leveraged buyout of KMD. Last year, Lucas was also involved in financing the Carlyle Group’s acquisition of Chesapeake’s packaging business.
Reports say that partner Mark Donald will stake over as head of banking at Weil’s London office.
