Two Majmudar & Partners set out to launch Bangalore firm

June 25, 2014 Two senior associates from Indian law firm Majmudar & Partners, Tejus Cherian and Vinod Kamath, have left the firm to launch a new Bangalore-based corporate law firm called CK Juris.

The new firm will focus on corporate M&A, employment and real estate work.

Cherian explained that the new firm’s clients come from the IT, pharmaceuticals and real estate sectors, and include some foreign companies that are setting up subsidiaries in India.

“Starting up was a plan somewhere down the line. But I think now it’s the time of change in the country [with the new government] and also for us to change from a personal standpoint,” he said.

“I am sure there is going to be lots of [competition] but the activity levels are going to increase with the change in government and we will be practically targeting that rush, and expanding to look at overseas marketing as well.”
