The combined firm will operate under the name Charles Russell Speechly, with 170 partners and revenues of around £135 million. The pair seem to be a good match, with just £10k separating the paying average PEP paid at each firm last year.
The move to merge follows Speechly's failed merger attempt last year, when negotiations with Withers stumbled close to the finishing line with partners voting against the tie-up.
ICharles Russell’s managing partner Christopher Page said, “One of the many things we share with Speechly Bircham is our reading of private wealth in the fullest sense of that term. The beauty of the new combination is that it gives us real scale”.
