California fair employment director moves to DLA Piper as partner
DLA Piper as a partner in its employment practice in Los Angeles. Cheng served almost 7 years in her former role, appointed in January 2008 by then governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Ms. Cheng stepped down from her post just three days before joining DLA Piper, after a recent promotion scandal - in which Cheng was not involved - brought an investigation into promotion and hiring practices at the department. Her accomplishments at the department were nonetheless worthy and many, and she will focus on local, national and international clients with operations subject to California's employment laws.
