Kirkland poaches PE partner from Weil
Kirkland & Ellis has hired away Douglas Ryder, private equity partner, from Weil Gotshal & Manges to its New York office. Ryder joined Weil along with Harvey Eisenberg from O'Melveny & Myers three years ago.
Weil will separately announce this week new hire Frank Adams from Greenberg Traurig Maher. Adams will relocate from London to New York in his new role.
While the hire of Adams brings a high-yield lawyer to Weil, the loss of Ryder is a sting only months following Kirkland's hire of their former banking head Stephen Lucas.
